Privacy Policy

GiftSecrets does not require user registration, account creation, or logins to browse gifts, invite friends, or use group pools. You can use most of the platform without creating a GiftSecrets password or profile.

GiftSecrets uses browser or device storage for anonymous session and referral IDs, local group-pool state, display labels, and timestamps. Clearing that storage resets those values on that device.

Gift purchases and group-pool contributions are routed through Stripe. GiftSecrets never receives or stores full payment-card details. Stripe may collect checkout details needed to process the payment (and, for shipped gifts, a delivery address and contact details you enter at checkout). Those details are used only to complete payment and fulfill the order through our secure global fulfillment network.

Optional Premium and Lifetime plans are billed only through the app store on your phone: Google Pay on Google Play, Apple Pay on the App Store, or Huawei Pay on AppGallery. GiftSecrets does not take card payments for Premium on the website. If Premium does not appear after reinstalling, use Restore purchases in the Premium screen so the store can re-link your existing entitlement.

Group-pool contributions are processed by Stripe. Free members pay a 2.9% platform surcharge on their own contribution; Premium members pay 0% on theirs. The surcharge is added on top of the share that goes toward the gift and never reduces the catalog gift target.

Transaction identifiers. GiftSecrets does not store credit card or banking data. Anonymous payment references (such as Stripe PaymentIntent IDs and receipt references) may be stored on the server so we can track contribution totals, confirm gift targets, and process refunds when you cancel an eligible contribution.

Cancellation and refunds. If you created the wrong group or chose the wrong gift package, you can cancel or delete that pool from the Group Pots screen before the gift is purchased. If you joined a pool, you can cancel your own contribution while the pool is still open (before the deadline and before the gift target is reached); Stripe then returns that payment to your original method (typically within 5–10 business days). Once the gift purchase is completed, no refund is available through GiftSecrets for that contribution or order.

Non-custodial processing. GiftSecrets never takes custody of card funds; Stripe payment operations follow Stripe's Services Agreement and Privacy Policy. Premium store billing follows the privacy terms of Google, Apple, or Huawei, depending on your device.

GiftSecrets may use product discovery and recommendation tools to help you compare gifts, including shipping options and prices in currencies such as EUR, USD, and GBP. These tools are intended to provide useful suggestions and do not create a login profile about you. External payment and store providers have their own privacy policies.

GiftSecrets does not run a traditional customer account database of names and emails for browsing the app. Payment cards are handled by Stripe (gifts and group pots) or by Google Play, the App Store, or AppGallery (Premium / Lifetime). Delivery contact details you enter at Stripe Checkout for a shipped gift are used for fulfillment only. Cookies and tracking during Stripe Checkout are managed by Stripe as part of that payment flow.

Email addresses and order data from Stripe Checkout are used for fulfillment and automated order updates — including tracking links sent from order@giftsecrets.app.

Customer support for GiftSecrets is handled by Byggbar Tech at support@byggbartech.com (the same channel used across our app ecosystem). If you contact support, we process your message and any photos or videos you attach to resolve your order. This data is kept secure and private. We do not sell your contact details or use them for unsolicited marketing.

GiftSecrets uses PostHog (EU-hosted at eu.i.posthog.com) for anonymous product analytics — page views and feature usage — to improve the platform. PostHog does not receive payment or card data. Session cookies or equivalent device identifiers may be used for wishlists, group pots, invite rewards, Premium restore status, and AI Finder quotas. We do not use Google Analytics or ad pixels.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the effective date at the top of this page. Material changes may also be highlighted in the app. Your continued use of GiftSecrets after an update means you accept the revised policy. For Stripe purchases, you must agree to the current Terms and Privacy Policy before checkout.

For general user support and technical inquiries only, contact support@byggbartech.com. This channel is not used to create GiftSecrets accounts. Formal disputes on Stripe charges go through Stripe; Premium billing disputes go through Google Play, Apple, or Huawei.
